Only faculty members at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or permanent Adjunct Professor in the Department are eligible to supervise doctoral dissertations.
The Assembly of each Department determines the number of doctoral candidates that a faculty member can supervise, taking into account the needs of the scientific field, as well as the number of faculty members at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and permanent Adjunct Professor in the Department.
Each faculty member may supervise three (3) doctoral dissertations, either through direct supervision or co-supervision. Additionally, in exceptional cases (e.g., if the principal supervisor becomes unavailable) where a faculty member is called to take over the doctoral dissertation of another faculty member, the number of dissertations supervised can be modified by a decision of the Assembly. In cases of co-supervision, a Special Cooperation Protocol is drafted.
